Code Red Student Helpdesk at the Wolverine Den
In the Fall of 2019, Waverly High School initiated a 1:1 laptop program. With the technology staff already stretched, the decision was made to start a student helpdesk that would handle level one tech support for students and teachers. This was folded into the Wolverine Den and staffing started over the summer.
New this year, the Code Red Helpdesk is going to be handling all Level 1 tech support. We can be reached internally by dialing extension 1149 or from outside the district at 607-565-8101 x1149!
The Code Red Student Helpdesk is managed by Ryan Talada, who leads a staff of 10 students. Together, they work together to provide students support with password resets, internet connectivity, device repairs, and more! On the teacher side, they are training to make "classroom calls", where a teacher can call with a problem and we will dispatch a student technician to solve the problem.
The helpdesk also provides special event tech support. For example, they are responsible for providing quality service for the upcoming job fair, setting up for any meetings in the Den, as well as technical support for the Coffee Shop on a daily basis. We are working to expand their responsibilities to enhance their experiences!
